Movement is important: kybun mats in crèches

29.09.2016

Children discover their strengths and develop self-confidence by means of their own bodies.

Sports professor Hansruedi Baumann demonstrates how children in crèches, nurseries and schools can move around in a beneficial way as part of his project ‘Mut tut gut!’ (Courage is good for you!). Children are happier, more content, more astute, less aggressive and improves their motor skills when they take part in a wide range of exercises. The soft, elastic springy kybun mat is a piece of equipment that Baumann appreciates in particular. It encourages the children to roll, bounce and jump as if they were on a small trampoline and to express their creativity. A trip to the Purzelhuus crèche in Lenzburg, Switzerland, reveals just how much the little ones enjoy the exercise.
